Board Members of the Union of Employers of ICT met with Vahram Dumanyan, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (ESCS) of the Republic of Armenia.
Members of the Union presented the programs implemented in the fields of general education, secondary vocational and higher education, which aim to improve the quality of ICT education.
In particular, the program of teaching ICT subjects in RA high schools was presented, within the framework of which students study Microelectronics, Fundamentals of Telecommunication, and Information Technologies.
In 2020, UEICT received a grant from the King Baudouin Foundation United States through solicitation of Synopsys company to introduce the Artificial Intelligence course in Armenian high schools. In 2021 the 10th grade course was developed and fully digitized, and in 2022 the 11th grade curriculum will be developed and digitized.
The Smart Solutions Center and Startup Movement project created by the Union were presented at the meeting.
The chairman of the Union, Armen Baldryan, invited the Minister of ESCS of RA to visit the Smart Solutions Center to get acquainted with the programs of the Union.
In addition, an agreement was reached with the Deputy Minister, Mrs. Andreasyan, to meet again and discuss the possibilities of further cooperation related to public education, and the procedure for introducing the subject of Artificial Intelligence in high schools.
