Since 2015, ICT curriculum with subjects like IT, basics of Telecommunication and Microelectronics, has been introduced at RA high schools, which is already being implemented at 10 high schools. This year it is planned to include a new subject, Artificial Intelligence. The program is implemented with the support of Viva-MTS, Unicomp and Synopsys companies.
Based on the COVID-19 situation, the Artificial Intelligence course was completely digitalized, thanks to which both teachers and students will be able to easily master the new subject regardless of the situation.
By exposing students to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and giving them opportunities to explore STEM-related disciplines and concepts, they will develop a passion for it and hopefully pursue a job in a STEM field.
Teaching STEM in High Schools opens the door for teachers and students to become tomorrow’s movers and shakers. Young children with a strong foundation in science, technology, engineering and mathematics will go on to play an integral role in Armenia’s global competitiveness and economic stability․
