The annual International Microelectronics Olympiad of Armenia is aimed at the development of the IT sector in Armenia. It is a contest for engineers and students under 30 years of age. The Olympiad aims to promote the development of microelectronics in Armenia and participating countries, to identify and encourage young, talented specialists, to increase the interest towards microelectronics among young professionals, to find out the level of knowledge in microelectronics among young people in order to modify educational programs, create a community of young specialists involved in microelectronics.
The topics of Olympiad are following:
- Testing and design of digital integrated circuits (IC)
- Design and testing of analog and mixed signal IC
- Semiconductor devices and technology
- Mathematical and algorithmic support for automated design of IC
